Creating a complete power monitoring and communications system for low voltage power distribution systems is easy with Utility Relay Company's AC-PRO and ZERO-Hertz communicating trip units. The trip units communicate using the industry standard MODBUS protocol. Up to 32 trip units can be daisy-chained together with a single shielded twisted pair cable to simplify installation.

With the addition of an LCI (Local Communications Interface) mounted in the substation, data from the trip units can be viewed on the LCI’s large 4-line X 20-character display. The LCI will continuously monitor the trip units daisy-chained to its RS-485 port.

The LCI also includes a 10Base-T Ethernet port and a programmable IP Address that allows for easy connection directly to a Local Area Network (LAN). Once connected to the LAN, the LCI will pass MODBUS commands from most MMI/HMI and power management systems such as: Wonderware®, Kepware’s KEPServer®, Intellution iFIX®, Square D POWERLOGIC
SMS-3000®, PML Pegasys and ION Enterprise®, Electro Industries’ NEXUS and Futura+® and many others.

When the communication hardware and software are configured, you can see the following data, and more!
